Ichendorf Tipsy cup diam. 12 cm. by Domus Academy Milano

The Ichendorf Tipsy cup is an ode to playful equilibrium, designed in collaboration with Domus Academy Milano. Its delicate tilt captures the essence of movement, a dance between balance and spontaneity, transforming a simple bowl into a sculptural statement. Every piece reflects the vision of young designers from the Master in Product Design 2023: Chiara Tussie, Paula Castillón García, and Sonia Redon. Their approach merges experimentation with Ichendorf’s timeless glassmaking artistry, creating an object that feels alive on the table.

Handcrafted Italian elegance

Meticulously handmade and lampworked in borosilicate glass, the Tipsy bowl reveals the brand’s commitment to precision and lightness. The smoky finish enhances its subtle geometry, giving depth to its transparent form while maintaining an airy feel. Though visually fragile, it’s durable and dishwasher safe at low temperatures (40 °C/104 °F recommended). This makes it suitable for everyday use while preserving its artistic integrity — an example of how functionality and design can harmonize beautifully.

A statement for contemporary tables

Part of the Ichendorf Bowls and Salad Bowls category, the Tipsy cup is versatile enough to serve desserts, appetizers, or simply act as a centerpiece. Its organic motion echoes the creative spirit found in collections such as the Ichendorf tumblers & glasses and Ichendorf cups & mugs, where each object speaks a unique design language. The subtle curve of the Tipsy form recalls the poetic experimentation of Ichendorf’s collaborations with young designers, connecting innovation with craft heritage.

From Domus Academy to Ichendorf Milano

This creation is part of a forward-looking collaboration between Ichendorf and Domus Academy Milano, showcasing the power of design education and craftsmanship united. The Tipsy collection challenges perception; an exploration of form, motion, and emotion embodying the same expressive purity found in the Ichendorf Botanica collection and the fluid grace of Ichendorf Marine Garden. Each bowl is more than a design piece; it’s a testament to the future of Italian artistry.
